The status quo of my country's automobile mold industry

China's automobile die industry has developed rapidly and made great progress recently, but there is still an obvious gap compared with the high level. It is mainly manifested in the following aspects:

First, poor manufacturing accuracy. Taking seals as an example, many people have reflected that the sealing performance of domestic automobiles is not good. In fact, this is not only related to the seal material and seal manufacturing level, but also directly related to the relevant mold level. At present, foreign automobile enterprises are implementing the "2mm" project, but in China, a single part can be achieved, but there is no guarantee that hundreds of parts are assembled together. The key lies in the mold.

Second, the mold life is short. Take the aluminum die-casting mold as an example,the foreign level has reached more than 1 million times, while my country has only 200,000 times, only 1/5 of the foreign level.

Mold development cycle is long. In the past, China's automobile models remained unchanged for decades, and the development of automobile molds was also very slow. With the fierce competition, the new generation of automobile products is speeding up, which requires the mold industry to shorten the mold development cycle. At present, the development cycle of medium-sized casting dies in foreign countries is only 1-2 months, while that of automobile panel dies is 6-7 months, while that in China is 2-3 times of that of foreign countries. Therefore, although some domestic automobile mold factories have developed new molds, they often lose their market competitiveness because they can't keep up with the pace of new generation of automobile products.

The main reason for the above problems is that the enterprise structure of China's automobile mold industry is unreasonable, and there is a big gap in software development, management and personnel quality compared with foreign countries.

The degree of standardization is low. The automobile mold has entered the standardization stage. Foreign automobile dies are basically provided by good mold manufacturers, and the commercialization rate of molds is more than 70%. There are many professional enterprises with standard parts of automobile dies, and there are hundreds of standard parts of automobile dies. However, the main mold production capacity in China is concentrated in the mold branch or workshop of each main engine plant, and the mold commercialization rate is low. During the Ninth Five Year Plan period, although the enterprise structure has been adjusted, the proportion of mould self-produced and self-made is still as high as 70%. In terms of automobile die standard parts, there are only two enterprises with batch production in China.
